Acquisition Manager– Automotive Dealership
The position is responsible for locating, evaluating and completing the purchase of pre-owned vehicles for resale from service drive customers as well as utilize all available prospecting resources to identify and engage private parties looking to sell their vehicle.
Resources include third party websites, 3rd party lead sources, service drive traffic and other means. This Associate will enjoy consistent interaction with customers throughout the day, both in person and over the phone. This role will primarily make cold contact with prospects who have their vehicle advertised for sale, both online and as walk-ins to the store. S/he will set appointments with potential customers to visit the dealership for an appraisal. Those customers interested in replacing their vehicle will be referred to a Sales Associate who will execute the sales process.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluate and appraise customer vehicles using state of the art software
Provide customers with a free, no-obligation appraisal value for their vehicle
Meet customers and explain that the dealership is interested in purchasing their vehicle
Collect and report data and analytics to sales management
Innovate and create new methods of acquiring pre-owned vehicles for the dealership inventory from various sources
Track and maintain a database of customers and their vehicles for follow-up purposes
Review vehicle condition reports
Determine wholesale and retail prices
Inspect and accept vehicles arriving on site
Resolve discrepancies regarding condition inspections and actual condition at arrival
Create and execute reconditioning action plan to prepare vehicle for retail
Using sound judgment, research, and excellent interpersonal skills to make offers on vehicles and close sales
Driving incremental business through a high-level of engagement with customers.
Turn prospective Vehicle Procurement Customers over to an “elite” sales team for a sales opportunity
Work with management to identify current inventory needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates will have a strong background and proven experience in vehicle sales and inventory development, including:
Three (3) years proven experience in vehicle sales a plus, would consider training the right candidate
Experienced in assessing and appraising vehicles a plus
Proficiency working with Customer Database/Relationship Management systems
Strong & professional communication skills (verbally and written)
Strong attention to detail, organized and strategic
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Self-motivated and driven with a passion for excellence in execution
Desire to work in a high energy, fast-paced environment
Valid Driver License
Bilingual - fluent in Spanish preferred
